La Châtelaine Chocolat Company is a French artisan chocolate store in Bozeman, Montana, a cozy place where I stopped by to photograph and taste its premium chocolate.
As I was taking a few close-up shots of its sweet treats, I noticed a pair of eyes straining to see through a glass display case. I introduced myself to the young girl and her mother and asked if I could snap some photos of her daughter, Sena, eyeing the chocolate. She said that would be fine but Sena timidly hid from my camera. I pretended to ignore her and photograph the chocolates in the shop until, eventually, she wandered near me and agreed to pose with her hot chocolate.
Photo tip: There was a good quality of light coming in the storefront so I quickly changed to a faster f/1.4 lens and positioned myself on the side of the windows to take advantage of the light. By now she was used to my camera and didn’t feel the need to hide. And when her spoon needed cleaning, I got my photo.
