Whitefish Legacy Partners is an incredible non-profit organization responsible for maintaining the beautiful trail systems around Whitefish, Montana. I rode on the Whitefish Trail, which is 26 miles of natural-surface trail around scenic overlooks, and had so much fun taking photos of mountain bikers.
Photo tip: Mountain biking is a fast-action sport, and I wanted to capture that feeling of zooming through the forest. Set your shutter speeds to around 1/60 s and 1/30 s. This produces a purposeful blur that shows the motion while still retaining sharpness in the surroundings. To get this photo (above), I stood at a turn in the trail, leaned against a tree for stability, set my camera to capture a high frame rate, and told the guys to come screaming by me.
